HeroCraft today
Hello again.
I know it's been more than a minute since those early posts. I'd like to say I have a tidy reason for that. The honest one is simpler: this project only moves when I have margin left after faith, family, and work commitments. Sometimes that margin gets vacuumed up by a new expansion. Sometimes life just wins.
I started this site so I would keep writing about a character-crafting game I wanted to build. That idea is still mine. It is also on the shelf for now. The 2020 and 2021 posts are offline in an archive until I pick that thread back up. I don't want the homepage pretending the series is current when it isn't.
What this place is
HeroCraft.games is still the spot where I chase that design itch: systems, builds, and eventually something you can play. Notes and experiments belong here first. The name is the point.
Hobby tools on the side
When I do have a little leftover energy, I sometimes build utilities for games I already play. They live under Tools, and they stay secondary on purpose. The first public one is the WoW Gear Optimizer, built for World of Warcraft: Forever. Forever's public item data is not available yet, so the catalog is Classic for now while I finish the tooling.
If you came for the tools, welcome. If you want a bit more about who is behind this, see About. The longer game-design series will come back when I reopen that project. For now, this is what's actually live.
Does that sound like a reasonable place to leave things for now?
